Hi there so you want to know the answer to “why should I use Showit for my website?” Stay tuned because I’m going to go through some of the features of Showit in this video and blog post. Both say the same thing, so choose to consume in the way that you prefer.
Okay so I have used a lot of platforms over the last 10 years since I made my first website. I’ve finally settled on Showit. So I’m going to go through some of the reasons that I’ve chosen the platform.
The first thing I love is for non developers. Showit is great if you don’t have the tech skills but you want to be able to have control of your website. It’s is a great option for non developers.
A lot of people get a developer or designer to design their website for them. The website is handed over. Then anytime you want to make a change for your business (which for me happens a lot) you have to request the change. You can make all the little changes like tweaking copy or adding in a new form for your latest free opt-in.
If you have a custom website built for you. Anytime you want to make any of those changes you have to go back to the designer and request that change, because you don’t know how to use the platform that your website’s been built on.
The reason I love Showit is it’s much more user friendly for non-developers and non-coders. You can make those changes yourself. So that you don’t have to wait around and you can get on with running your business.
Next up is flexibility of design. Showit allows you to do a lot of cool design tricks that I’ve not seen on any other drag and drop platform. Up to this point I’ve not mentioned that it’s a drag-and-drop platform.
So although you do get other drag and drop builders this one allows for so many more options. With lots of interaction that you can create on your website. Like hovering over things to activate something and clicking on things. You can do a lot more than you can do on other platforms.
I’ll use my website as an example. Visuals are important because I sell website to templates. I can feature a static image of a website template and when you hover over that picture you can then see a video playing with a demo of the website. It’s a great way to preview my templates.
You can do all sorts of neat creative things.
The third thing I love about Showit is how it is linked to WordPress. So although you do your design using the Showit interface. Using the drag and drop features to make everything look nice. Then you do your blogging, vlogging or podcasting whatever kind of content marketing that you choose in your blog feed.
You do the content marketing using WordPress. If you have the top subscription of Showit you can also use any plugin that you choose. This gives you a huge number of options in terms of what your website can do.
For example, you design the way that you want your blog feed to look in Showit and then you link it to WordPress. Then you do the actual blogging in WordPress.
This means if you wanted to set up say a membership site or a directory. Something that’s a bit more complicated, it is possible. It might be something you need to bring a specialist in to do for you but it is possible.
It’s useful to know you won’t have to change platforms to be able to do something more complex in the future. You can grow your business sticking with Showit all the way through.
It is very flexible in the scope of what it’s actually able to do. I love the fact that it can grow with your business. You can start off using the drag and drop, buy a template and have your website up and running quickly. You can do this without having to have any coding knowledge.
You can get up and running yourself and then it can still grow with your business and evolve with your business. Plus if you need to make changes as I said earlier you don’t need to go to a developer to get those changes done for you. You can do them for yourself.
If you’re ready to get stuck in and start working on your website. Be sure to check out my other posts that will help you to get started.
If you buy a template, a lot of people myself included provide a lot of video tutorials along with the templates so that you know exactly how to make those changes. My templates also come with a facebook group where you can ask for help if you ever get stuck with how to do something.
Using a template is a really easy way to get your website up and running. End up with something that’s strategically designed and then get on with selling your service or running your business.
Whatever it is that you do so it’s a great platform for any kind of service business. Coaches, creatives, photographers, social media managers, virtual assistants…
…it’s a great option for all kinds of professions. The great thing is as I said it can grow with your business. So if you decide to move into digital products or courses, anything that’s more passive down the line then that’s totally possible to do on Showit.
It is also possible to use Showit for e-commerce but it’s not my area of expertise. I do know that in the top tier subscription you can get Shopify light integrated with the platform.
If you’re building a service based website and you want to know what to include in your website you can grab my free content checklist. Fill in your details below.
